Contract CAD Designer (short-term)

Part-time | 15-20 hours/week | Pay commensurate with experience

We’re looking for an experienced, thoughtful, and detail-oriented CAD designer to help with our in-house custom projects. This is a short-term, contract position while our designer is out on maternity leave.

This role blends technical precision, creative artistry, and collaborative service,  helping bring our clients' custom jewelry visions to life through stunning, true-to-life renderings and thoughtful design iteration. If you love translating ideas into beautiful visuals, working closely with a creative team, and taking pride in the craft behind every piece — this is your role.

You are a great fit if you:

  • Have prior experience creating CAD renderings for engagement, wedding, and other jewelry pieces (required)
  • Are proficient in jewelry-specific CAD software (Matrix, Rhino, or similar)
  • Produce photorealistic renderings that help clients truly envision a finished piece
  • Are responsive, collaborative, and comfortable incorporating feedback
  • Are organized and able to turn around revisions within 2–3 business days

What you'll do:

  • Create detailed CAD models and photorealistic renderings for custom jewelry projects
  • Collaborate with our design team to interpret client briefs and mood boards
  • Incorporate client and team edits with professionalism and a fast turnaround
  • Communicate clearly about timelines, design limitations, and material considerations
  • Help bring each custom piece to life in a way that feels personal and precise

What you bring:

  • Proven experience in jewelry CAD design and rendering
  • Strong eye for proportion, detail, and how design translates to a physical piece
  • Ability to work efficiently under revision cycles without sacrificing quality
  • Clear, professional communication — written and verbal
  • A collaborative mindset and genuine care for the client experience behind each project

Familiarity with Asana and Slack for in-house communication is a plus — but we can get the right person up to speed.
